BAHAWALPUR | The Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB) has solidified its academic vision for the year, with its Institutional Quality Circle (IQC) successfully concluding its second quarterly meeting for the 2025-26 session. Chaired by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran, the high-level forum established a clear strategic roadmap aimed at elevating the university’s academic and research standards to global benchmarks.

Graduate Program Review & Transparent Assessment Mechanisms Approved

A pivotal outcome of the meeting was the formal presentation and approval of the Graduate Program Review (GPR) panel. This initiative is designed to ensure rigorous, transparent evaluation of academic programs. Complementing this, dedicated assessment teams were formed, signaling IUB’s commitment to a robust, internal quality assurance framework.

QEC Director Outlines Digital & Data-Driven Way Forward

Prof. Dr. Asadullah Madni, Director of the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC), presented a comprehensive “way forward” strategy. Key action points included updating the university’s digital presence and implementing systematic processes for timely data collection for international rankings. This digital shift is considered essential for enhancing IUB’s global visibility and competitiveness.

Focus on Outcome-Based Education and Internationalization

The House conducted a thorough review of a draft Institutional Performance Report, which strongly emphasized integrating Outcome-Based Education (OBE) methodologies and accelerating internationalization efforts. This dual focus is intended to align student learning outcomes with international standards and foster global academic partnerships.

IUB Quality Team Earns Prestigious HEC Recognition

In a significant accolade, the IUB Quality Team was honored by the Higher Education Commission (HEC). The university received a distinguished performance badge under the “Together for Quality Excellence Program” a forum held in Multan for institutions in South Punjab. This recognition, shared with four other universities, highlights IUB’s leadership in quality assurance within the region and validates its ongoing commitment to academic excellence.

A Roadmap for Sustained Excellence

The decisions ratified in this IQC meeting collectively form a concrete strategic roadmap for the 2025-26 academic year.
